Data Erasure and Destruction

We pay  considerable  attention to the confidentiality and safe handling of our customers’ sensitive data. That’s why we follow the industry-leading procedures in terms of data erasure. We   work closely with leading providers of CESG approved software, allowing us to have in place a reliable and secure data erasure process. After the assets are booked into our inventory testing system, we proceed with the data wiping. All data wiping/erasure software used by Recycly.Tech Ltd is fully certified under ISO 27001 and other security/data compliance certification.

We have two options for secure data erasure:

– Blancco (for a fee), one of the leading data wiping software providers.

– Free software wiping in compliance with NIST 800-88DoD, 5220.22-M, HMG Infosec standards.

Both methods ensure accurate, quality controlled and fully documented data erasure, which guarantees your data are completely and irremediably removed from all your IT equipment.

Data wiping reports and certificates are archived for a five-year  term, allowing the ability to track back to any specific erased item. Data wipe documentation can be provided anytime at your request.

By using our data wipe software, data can be removed from:

  • Hard disc drives (SATA, IDE, SSD, SAS, etc.)
  • Smart phones
  • Tablets
  • Portable storage
  • PCs
  • Laptops
  • Servers

Physical Destruction

Sometimes, for  security reasons, or in cases where your company policy require it,  data bearing devices (HDDs, SSDs,) need to be physically destroyed. This option is usually popular with large clients or data centres. But whatever your reasons for hard drive destruction , we have two solutions.

Off-site destruction

For this solution, the equipment is collected and transported to our premises, where we have three technological options for hard drive destruction:

  • Shredding
  • Punching
  • Degaussing

On-site destruction

For on-site destruction, our truck, equipped with a shredding machine, visits our clients’ premises accompanied by our technical team, who perform the destruction work on-the-spot, using our data media shredding machine certified by the Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure (CPNI).

For both solutions, hard drive serial numbers are scanned prior to destruction to facilitate final inventory reconciliation. Certificates of data destruction can be provided on request.
